Wayman is an impressionist sculptor from Baltimore whose work explores contemporary, historical, and religious themes. Rooted in the Black community, his sculptures honor heroes and stories of resilience. Committed to equity and inclusion, he uses art to spark critical conversations. He has received the 2023/24 EMBARC Fellowship, the 2023 Openshaw Fellowship, the 2021 Mary Nyburg Award, and most recently, the inaugural Prism Award in 2025. His work has been featured in publications nationally in America Magazine , US Catholic Magazine , The Catholic Review, The Black Catholic Messenger, Capital Gazette, the film Outlasting Clay.
